Content Engineer (m/f/d)
Hybrid (Karlsruhe) • Student Job • 15-20 Euro/Hour • Our First Hire!
Sliplane.io is a fully managed Container-as-a-Service platform that makes hosting Docker containers ridiculously simple. We're the European alternative to Heroku, Fly.io, and Render - with better pricing and unlimited services for a flat rate. We’re looking for a content engineer / technical writer eager to learn about content marketing in a small and fast growing startup.
- Research and try out hot new open source software and get it running on Sliplane
- Write tutorials about it: How to deploy everything from Next.js apps to self-hosted analytics
- Create demos and example projects with real code people can fork and deploy in 60 seconds
- Get familiar with the hosting landscape and create comparison guides (e.g. Sliplane vs. AWS), migration guides, setup walkthroughs
- You write clearly in English (doesn't need to be native-level, just solid)
- You're comfortable with Docker and have some DevOps experience
- You can pick up new tech stacks quickly
- You're thinking about starting your own company someday and want to learn the fundamentals of content marketing
- You can work autonomously and are curious and persistent by nature
- Bonus: You've written technical content before (blog posts, docs, tutorials, whatever)
- Student position, max. 20 hours per week
- Compensation: 15 Euro/Hour with potential for increase
- Location: Hybrid in Karlsruhe, 1 day/month in person in Jonas’ co-working space, rest is remote/wherever
- Working hours: ~2 days per week with flexible hours. We care more about output than face time, the faster you are, the higher your hourly compensation!
- Potential to grow: If it goes well, there's room for more responsibility and higher compensation
- Look behind the curtains of an early stage growing startup, you'll work directly with us (Lukas and Jonas, the founders) and learn the fundamentals of content marketing
- Learn how to explain technical concepts, understand cloud infrastructure, build a portfolio of technical writing
Interested? Send an email to jonas at sliplane.io ([email protected]) with:
- A bit about yourself including education, experience, and interests
- Something you've written or built (blog post, GitHub repo, tutorial, anything that shows us you can communicate technical stuff)
- What would be the first blog post you'd want to write and why?
Note: No need to send a formal cover letter or CV. We read everything personally; no need to stuff keywords.
